The 20th Miss Valentine tournament will bring to Estonia more than 1000 gymnasts from all over the world.
97 groups have registered for the AGG World Cup, Challenge Cup and Miss Valentine tournament. 18 groups will take part of the World Cup competition, promising a very exciting beginning for the 2014 season.
Also in the rhythmic gymnastics tournament a record-breaking number of participants is expected. There are 77 junior individuals registered for the competition. The juniors are preparing for the European Championship in spring 2014 and Miss Valentine will be for many of them the first bigger competition in 2014. Additionally, 52 seniors and four senior group will compete in Tartu from 7th til 9th of February. More than 200 rhythmic gymnasts are expected to Miss Valentine, when considering also the younger RG participants.
Altogether, more than 1150 participants from 31 countries are expected to Miss Valentine. Mexico, USA and Romania added their gymnasts to the list after the registration deadline. However, South African and Turkish gymnasts had to cancel their trips to Estonia.
“We are going to have really long competition days,” says Mrs. Janika Mölder, the chief organizer of the competition. “This time there have been so many requests, that I unfortunately had to turn down some of the groups.”
Mölder explains that she did not expect that many gymnasts to register. “But I am really happy that so many people want to come. This will be Miss Valentine’s 20th anniversary and we are very happy to celebrate it with our guests,” she added.
